SGC Vision:
We exist for the glory of God.
SGC Mission:
Making and maturing disciples of Jesus Christ
by proclaiming the gospel, committing to one another, and submitting to God’s word.
Together, these statements tell us where we are going and how we are getting there. The Vision statement is our overarching purpose: we are made to enjoy and reflect God’s glory (Isa 43:1-7, 48:9-11; 1 Cor 10:31; Mt 5:16). The Mission statement is our language for and an echo of what our Lord calls us to in the Great Commission (Mt 28:18-20).
The following three phrases indicate the types of activities we are committed to towards the end of making and maturing disciples. While many other “methods†for church and spiritual growth are out there, we are convinced that God designed the proclamation of the gospel (Rom 1:16; 1 Cor 1:18; 2 Cor 3:18), a mutual commitment to one another (Rom 12:4-5; Eph 2:19; 1 Pet 2:5) and submission to his Word (2 Tim 3:16; 2 Pet 1:3) as the means by which disciples of Jesus Christ are made and matured.
Therefore, at Saving Grace the decisions we make, the events we plan, and the strategies we utilize, are all aimed in the direction of our Vision and Mission.
